Kappa is an Italian sportswear brand that has stood the test of time. Founded in Turin in 1916, the brand has made a name for itself in the world of sports and fashion. For years, Kappa has provided the official gear for many of the world's most prestigious sports teams, including football, Formula 1, rugby, snowboarding and more. Today, Kappa continues to push the boundaries of sportswear, offering innovative designs to every customer. As a globally recognised brand experiencing the increased digitalisation of the sports industry, they wanted to take advantage of the digital assets produced by their clients using ScorePlay.

Cross-sports platform

Kappa works with some of the most illustrious sports organisations in the world, from AS Monaco, UBB, Stade Français, and Deportivo de la Coruña, to Alpine F1, as well as SM Caen and Red Star FC, some of which use ScorePlay to manage their digital content. Kappa saw an aggregated multi-platform as a solution to centralise across their sports and create a platform that would, for the first time, be exclusively for a brand or partner. Essentially, they have their ScorePlay platform, from which they can access their partner content from other ScorePlay platforms. As a huge producer of merchandise, they saw the value in a curated library of content that would give them access to all the digital assets they needed, without having to deal with inefficient workflows and collaboration.

Brands often have cross-sport partnerships with content from many different sources. In a digital world, they didn’t have a solution that met their needs as a global brand. ScorePlay offered one such solution, where they could access the content from each one of their clients (who use ScorePlay), and from a single platform, have an immediate access and searchability of any asset that their logo was visible in. With ScorePlay’s Projects, collaboration was suddenly streamlined - whether for internal or external workflows, they can easily work through their activation or campaign. Distribution for monetisation

Brands like Kappa have two types of partners: retailers and sports organisations. First and foremost, their biggest advocates and demanders of content are their retailers and sellers, such as Decathlon, Fanatics, Intersport and other licensees. Previously, they were caught between their two partners, demanding and sending content between them and acting as a de facto messenger. Not anymore. ScorePlay and Kappa came together to create the first dedicated digital asset manager that pulled content from sports organisations, brought it into the brand’s platform, and then gave their sellers a dedicated access for their resellers in order to immediately create value all along the supply chain, from content creators to sellers and back again.
