ScorePlay and Swiss Football League have closed a 2-year deal, where the digital asset manager will automate the SFL’s management, classification and distribution of their content, from photos, to videos, broadcasts and archives.

Swiss Football League Overview

The Swiss Football League is the professional football league in Switzerland that oversees the top two divisions of Swiss football. It was founded in 1933 and is composed of 22 teams. The league has a rich history of footballing excellence and is home to some of the most passionate fans in the world. The league has recently decided to use ScorePlay Pulse to power their matchday workflows between league, broadcaster and clubs. ScorePlay is a digital asset management platform that will provide quick access and searchability of all their content, ranging from photos to videos, broadcasts and archives.

Challenges faced

The Swiss Football League faced a hectic schedule every week and wanted to provide their clubs and broadcasters with an innovative media infrastructure. They were searching for a digital asset management solution that would not only ingest their entire history, but also give them a way to upgrade their digital strategy. They sought out a digital asset management platform that could provide quick access and searchability of all their content,  whether historical or current, ranging from photos to videos and broadcasts. Additionally, they needed it to automate broadcast footage delivery to clubs. ScorePlay was their go-to solution that provided a comprehensive, all-in-one package, without having to juggle several different tools.

ScorePlay media hub

The Swiss Football League chose ScorePlay as their official digital asset manager in February 2023 on a 2 year contract, so we deployed our AI-powered classification to begin tagging and sorting their assets and archives. The solution provided them with, amongst others:

  • Automatic tagging of players and partners with the use of face and word detection
  • Sporting calendar integration for automated sorting and organisation
  • Video ingestion for every match-day via RTMP server, using Opta to add searchable match events and clipping ability
  • Automatic distribution to clubs and broadcaster

"We're super happy to have found a solution like ScorePlay. The platform will give us a completely searchable library of our broadcast archives and be a game-changer for the Swiss Football League's brand and clubs by upgrading our media workflows." Frank Schaffner, Chief Digital Officer
